21st Century Challenges: Future of South Asia

The Lahore Institute for Research and Analysis (LIRA), The University of Lahore successfully hosted an International Symposium on ‘21st Century Challenges: Future of South Asia’ on April 17–18, 2025. This impactful symposium fostered meaningful dialogue, facilitated the exchange of knowledge, and explored innovative solutions across three critical areas: Youth Empowerment, Climate Change and Renewable Energy, and Emerging Trends in Communication.

The Youth Empowerment session focused on strategies to engage young leaders in governance, education, and economic development. The Climate Change and Renewable Energy session addressed urgent environmental challenges and promoted sustainable energy initiatives crucial to the region’s future. Meanwhile, the Emerging Trends in Communication session examined the transformative role of technology and media in shaping societal narratives and enhancing regional connectivity.

By bringing together a diverse group of experts, policymakers, and scholars, the symposium contributed to shaping a more sustainable, inclusive, and progressive future for South Asia.
